Position: Economics Teacher Location: Walsall Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September Key Stages: KS5 Economics Teaching Role in a Grammar School A grammar school in Walsall is seeking to appoint an Economics Teacher to join its department from September. This is a full-time role within a selective school that places strong emphasis on academic achievement, analytical thinking, and progression to higher education. Economics is a well-established subject within the sixth form curriculum, with students studying both microeconomics and macroeconomics in preparation for university-level study. About the Role You will teach Economics at Key Stage 5, delivering lessons that develop students’ understanding of economic theory, financial systems, market structures, and global economic issues. Students will be supported in developing analytical writing, data interpretation, and evaluation skills through structured lessons and case study analysis. You will prepare students for A-Level Economics examinations, helping them build confidence in exam technique and independent learning. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and assessment. Key Responsibilities Teach A-Level Economics to KS5 students Deliver lessons covering microeconomics and macroeconomics Prepare students for A-Level Economics examinations Assess student work and provide detailed feedback Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records Support independent learning and academic development Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development Promote engagement and participation in lessons The School Environment This grammar school in Walsall provides a structured and academically focused environment where students are highly motivated and engaged in their studies.
