SEN Classroom Teacher – Outer North London School
Full-Time, Permanent | MPS/UPS (Outer London) + SEN 1 Allowance
Start Date: ASAP
This school, based in Enfield, North London, is a warm and welcoming community where every child matters. They are a local authority-maintained special school supporting pupils aged 3–19 with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties, many with complex medical needs. With 162 pupils across our three sites – Waverley School, Little WaverleyBell Lane, and Little Waverley – we are proud of the nurturing, inclusive environment we have created.
They are looking for a passionate and dedicated Class Teacher to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about making a real difference and who would like to develop their skills in special education. They offer a comprehensive induction programme, great opportunities for training and development, and welcome applications from ECTs.
When working at this school, no two days are the same – you’ll be planning and delivering creative, engaging lessons that inspire curiosity and joy, helping their pupils to thrive both in and outside the classroom. You’ll be supported by a wonderful team of colleagues, work closely with a range of professionals, and play a key role in building confidence, communication, and independence in every young person you teach. Most importantly, you’ll be part of a school community that was rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in July 2024.
The school are looking for someone who has:
* A positive, can-do attitude and genuine enthusiasm for teaching
* Strong emotional resilience and a caring, patient approach
* A commitment to improving the lives of children and young people with SEND
* Excellent organisation skills, with experience in planning, assessing, and adapting lessons to meet diverse needs
* The ability to reflect on and grow within your teaching practice
They would love for you to visit and see their school in action – informal visits are warmly encouraged.
