Roles that require PVG Membership

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,285 per annum / £16.64 per hour)

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.

Job Purpose:
To assess need, design, develop, deliver, commission, quality assure and evaluate child protection training programmes and other learning and development initiatives to a range of staff from various agencies, services and organisations in Aberdeen City.




Requirements


Educated to degree level or professional equivalent
Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG)


Responsibilities

The post holder is expected to demonstrate:

* The ability to deliver training and share knowledge over a number of subjects to a range of children’s workforce professionals
* The ability to identify training needs in relation to policy and legislative requirements and developments
* The ability to develop and deliver a Learning & Development Strategy
* The ability to work autonomously and in partnership with other agencies, including those in neighbouring Child Protection Committee areas, to develop and deliver training programmes and other learning and development initiatives
* The ability to assist in the development of systems for organising (and statistically recording) child protection training activity, quality assuring and evaluation of same
