Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer
Location: Leeds
Salary: £37,000 - £45,000 + benefits
A well-established, multidisciplinary environmental and engineering consultancy are looking to appoint a Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer to join their growing Leeds team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to take a leading role on a diverse portfolio of contaminated land and ground investigation projects across the UK.
The Role
As a Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and delivering a range of geoenvironmental and geotechnical projects from initial phase through to completion. You will take ownership of technical delivery, client liaison, and mentoring junior engineers within the team.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing site investigations including Phase 1 desk studies and Phase 2 ground investigations
Interpretation of soil, gas and groundwater data
Production of interpretative reports including risk assessments and remediation strategies
Client and stakeholder liaison, providing technical advice and project updates
Overseeing subcontractors and site works, ensuring quality and H&S compliance
Supporting and mentoring junior engineers and graduates
Contributing to business development and bid preparation where required
About You
Degree qualified in geology, environmental science, civil engineering or a related discipline
Strong experience within geoenvironmental consultancy (typically 5+ years)
Solid understanding of contaminated land assessment and UK guidance (e.g. CLR11, BS5930, BS10175)
Confident report writing and data interpretation skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Full UK driving licence
