Working across all our product specialisms: Corproate FX and Deposits; you will be responsible for delivering our treasury wide new business origination campaigns.
You will be required to perform tasks commensurate with the facilitation of new business across all treasury products via outbound direct calling of potential Investec customers, direct prospecting / marketing. The role will require you to research, qualify and develop a warm pipeline for Sales Specialists across all products. This will enable them to focus on the acquisition of new customers to use products and services offered by Investec.
Key responsibilities
New Client Engagement
• Engage with new clients based on a defined target based approach and facilitate well qualified introductions to relevant teams across the TRS
• Working as part of a team to set agreed deadlines and targets.
• Fully utilising CRM and working within the set parameters.
• Gaining a detailed understanding of the Investec group offering.
• Booking appointments for sales specialists.
• Identifying appropriate cross selling opportunities to maximise our customers' journey.
• Monitoring appointments through the ‘sales funnel'.
• Profiling of data from Omniscope / other sources.
• Help to create a culture of high performance
Lead Qualification:
Ensure leads in CMR system are valid and complete
Qualify lead to justify a good understanding of how our value proposition will suit the customer's requirements
Research additional information on lead, e.g. current dealing arrangement. Business ownership size and potential wallet share.
Data Cleansing
• Ensure there are no duplicate leads in CRM system
• Ensure all leads are allocated to the correct salesperson
• All records in CRM are up to date and correct
Research new leads and develop opportunities
• Research and upload new leads into CRM system
• Conduct research into lead territories and industry vertical
• Support the sales team with research and meeting preparation including preparing meeting presentations and packs
Understand and verbalise the Investec value proposition
• Understand what Investec does and what different divisions do
• Sell the reason for someone to deal with Investec – understand why Investec are different and articulate that to the potential client.
Generate client meetings for the sales team through cold calling
• As skills progress, call potential clients with a view to setting up meetings for the Investec sales team
• Maintain professional office, phone and sales manner
Meet and strive to beat specific KPI's and targets
• Meet and exceed KPI targets around certain key objectives, e.g. daily calls, leads qualified and appointments generated.
Core skills and knowledge
• To act with integrity at all times and embrace the philosophy of treating our customers fairly (compulsory)
• Regulatory Knowledge as applicable to role (compulsory)
• Detailed knowledge of ICS working capital products
• Understanding of Investec credit risk appetite and credit principles
• Close attention to detail
• Intelligent and articulate; able to present well both in writing and orally
• Able to build strong relationships internally and externally
• Requires a good understanding of all Corporate Bank products
Any other attributes that would be helpful, but not essential for the role.
• Bachelor's Degree in a Business or Sales discipline
• Ability to articulate simply without using jargon
