Overview
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Logistics and Warehouse Manager with our Company. We are an established construction products distributor servicing London and the South East of England. We are a small expanding company and you will liaise with all departments enabling you to fulfil your role and help you feel part of our successful team.
Responsibilities
* Staff supervision and leadership: manage warehouse staff and drivers, ensure adequate training, and lead by example.
* Inventory control: manage stock movements, undertake periodic stock takes, and keep accurate records of goods in and out.
* Operational management: oversee the smooth running of warehouse operations including receiving, storing, order picking and shipping of goods, and organise courier services.
* Safety compliance: maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the warehouse and yard, enforce safety policies, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance efficiency.
* Problem solving and planning: address operational challenges proficiently, including planning daily delivery routes for all drivers.
* Technical abilities: computer literate and familiar with platforms such as Microsoft; training will be provided for in-house systems.
* Communication: clear and confident in verbal and written communication; able to interact with staff, suppliers and customers.
* Organisational ability: manage and prioritise multiple tasks, meet delivery targets, review costs, and meet deadlines consistently.
* Transport management: oversee the general management of the fleet of vans, including maintenance, servicing and upkeep.
Qualifications and Requirements
* We are FORS accredited; you must have knowledge of this and be able to keep detailed records accordingly.
* Current forklift licence is preferable but not essential.
* Full UK driving licence with van driving experience is essential. A 7.5 tonne operators licence is preferable.
* You may need to cover drivers during holidays or sickness.
* Accurate, up-to-date records of stock levels, deliveries and transport costs are required.
* The role can be physically demanding; you must be fit and able.
Salary and Benefits
* Salary: Negotiable (based on experience)
* 21 days holiday + Bank holidays
* Hours: 8.00am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday
