Job Description
As the Data Solution Architect, you will report into the Lead Solution Architect and be responsible for thought leadership and solution design for various projects and programmes across the business. You will be joining the business at a time of huge tech change as we deliver our new company wide platform. Initially, you will support Cloud Warehousing and the delivery of our new Data Bricks Platform (prior Data Bricks experience isn’t essential). More broadly, you will ensure that the right capabilities exist to enable the strategic priorities of stakeholders and the wider organisation, with a particular focus on data architecture.
You will create and maintain the technical roadmaps for your assigned remit and ensure that changes are designed, appraised and documented. You will have support from your direct Solution Architect team, the wider data and BA teams, as well as the broader Tech Teams.
You will use your expertise to support the development of the overarching IT Strategy, target architecture and target operating model during this tech transformation and beyond.
Responsibilities (Duties Include)
* Continually improve the maturity of the Architecture practice within Together
* Maintain the technical components of the Together Metamodel, data, applications and technology
* Create Architecture documents
* Act as a trainer and mentor to technical colleagues in the business
* Work with key business stakeholders: understand requirements, review current capabilities and co-create blueprints to help them achieve their aims
* Evaluate and adopt innovative data technologies to enhance platform capabilities
* Support the Director of Data and BI in managing the data platform roadmap, including upgrades, migrations, and technical change initiatives
* Align data architecture with other architectural domains / contribute to Enterprise Architecture repository
* Provide architectural guidance to engineering teams, ensuring data solutions are implemented as designed
* Reference and incorporate conceptual/logical data models and entity definitions managed by the Technical Data Steward into solution designs
* Ensure that data flows, APIs, and integrations respect the defined entities and relationships
Qualifications
Essential skills & experience
* Strong background in Architecture in a technology function
* A strategic thinker; capable of balancing long-term and immediate business requirements
* Experience working within agile and waterfall delivery models
* Cloud Data Warehouse experience (e.g. Azure Databricks Lakehouse, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse)
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and hybrid architectures
* Knowledge or understanding of various Architecture methods (SOA, Event Driven, Microservices)
* Knowledge & experience of data modelling tools and techniques including 3NF, Kimball, Data Vault etc
* Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
* Proficiency using Architecture tooling (Bizzdesign, Ardoq, Enterprise Architect)
* Experience working in a Salesforce / nCino environment
