About the Role:
One of my local government clients is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to help maintain the grounds and external communal areas across its housing estates. This is a hands-on role that requires physical capability, attention to detail, and a commitment to high service standards.
You’ll be part of a team delivering essential maintenance to support the wellbeing and satisfaction of residents across the borough. This role is a key part of the housing services team and involves both individual and collaborative work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:

Carrying out grounds maintenance and horticultural tasks such as grass cutting, pruning, weeding, and planting.
*
Maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of communal outdoor spaces.
*
Using machinery and tools safely and efficiently.
*
Ensuring all works are completed to a high standard and in a timely manner.
*
Providing a courteous and responsive service to residents and members of the public.
*
Working within health and safety guidelines, including manual handling and equipment safety.
Requirements:

Previous experience in grounds maintenance or horticultural work is essential.
*
Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
*
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting and operating equipment.
*
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
*
A valid UK driving licence is desirable.
*
Commitment to providing excellent customer service at all times.
