Purchase Ledger Assistant - Location Droitwich - Salary - £28K Are you an experienced Purchase Ledger professional with a keen eye for detail and a passion for process efficiency? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Purchase Ledger Assistant to join a Central Finance Team, supporting the smooth and accurate running of our accounts payable function across our growing group of manufacturing companies. About the Role: As a Purchase Ledger Assistant, you will be responsible for managing multiple ledgers, ensuring that supplier invoices are processed promptly and accurately, and supporting month-end reporting requirements. The Purchase Ledger Assistant will play a key role in maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal departments, ensuring all financial records are up to date and in line with group policies. Key Responsibilities: * Maintain multiple purchase ledgers (initially two, with potential for more as the group expands) * Process supplier invoices accurately in Microsoft Dynamics Business Central * Match invoices to purchase orders, resolving discrepancies where needed * Liaise with suppliers to manage and resolve invoice queries in a timely manner * Perform supplier statement reconciliations * Prepare and post BACS and Direct Debit payments * Assist in creating BACS payment files for approval * Set up new supplier accounts and maintain supplier data * Support month-end processes, including accruals and reconciliations * Provide internal and external stakeholders with timely and accurate reports * Provide cover for other purchase ledger team members when needed * Carry out ad hoc finance tasks as requested What we’re Looking For: * Strong understanding of purchase ledger processes * Previous experience managing multiple ledgers * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and knowledge of Business Central (preferred) * Excellent attention to detail and accuracy * Strong organisational skills and ability to manage high-volume processing * Proactive communicator and confident liaising with internal teams and external suppliers * Ability to meet strict month-end deadlines and work well under pressure Alcea Consultancy are acting as an employment business/agency in relation to this vacancy.
