Interim Director of HR (Part‑time)
An established not‑for‑profit organisation located on the outskirts of Havant, Hampshire is seeking an experienced interim director of HR to lead their HR function on a part‑time basis.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape HR strategy in a dynamic environment, where innovative approaches and staff wellbeing are key. With flexibility around working hours and location, this is a chance to make a meaningful impact on the organisation’s people strategy during a pivotal period.
Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership to the executive team and wider HR function, focusing on recruitment, retention, talent management, and absence reduction.
* Lead initiatives to enhance staff wellbeing and reduce associated costs, including sickness absence.
* Support organisational change and improvement projects aligned with long‑term goals.
* Collaborate closely with trustees and senior leaders to formalise HR policies and ensure compliance.
* Manage ongoing HR projects, ensuring smooth implementation within a fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications & Skills
* Demonstrate significant experience within not‑for‑profit or public sector settings, with a track record of leading HR functions at a senior level.
* Skilled in talent management, recruitment improvements, and staff retention strategies.
* Confident working independently, with excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
* Possess strong knowledge of HR legislation, best practice, and change management in complex settings.
* Adaptable and proactive, able to start quickly and deliver against short‑term project deadlines.
Key Information
Interim, part‑time opportunity (c. 2–3 days per week). Flexible start date at the end of June / beginning of July. Varied, engaging project‑based role with potential for ongoing consultancy support. Opportunity to contribute to strategic HR transformation. Hybrid working. This role is currently inside IR35.
Day rate will be dependent on experience.
