HR Business Assistant
Our client is looking for two full-time HR Business Assistants for temporary contracts of around six to eight weeks, based in an educational setting in Wellington Telford.
Responsibilities:
* Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, managing the main entrance and telephone communications.
* Direct visitors and calls to the appropriate individuals.
* Maintain and update key spreadsheets to support the organisation.
* Provide practical HR advice on performance management, attendance, timekeeping, disciplinary actions, and grievance hearings.
* Take minutes and lead hearings; liaise with senior management about investigations and disciplinary actions.
* Collaborate with the Managing Director to review, update, and implement HR processes.
* Recruit staff from advertisement to onboarding, including DBS, ID checks, RTW checks.
* Advise and support home managers and the head teacher on HR matters, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
* Order items for departments, ensure authorization, and provide financial records to the accounts department.
* Process role changes and internal promotions, including issuing confirmation letters.
* Manage probationary periods with timely reminders and follow-up paperwork for line managers.
Ideal Candidate:
* Practical experience in an HR Advisor role, ideally in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience with safer recruitment and KCSIE.
* Experience in the care and/or education industry or similar sectors, especially with compliance to external regulatory bodies such as OFSTED, LADO, and CQC.
* Motivated and passionate about HR and supporting individuals.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, either 8 am to 4 pm or 9 am to 5 pm.
The rate of pay is £14.00 per hour.
An Enhanced DBS check is required.
