Here at Americold Whitchurch, we are recruiting for a Transport Planning Coordinator for a 12-month temporary contract.
This role oversees UK subcontracting and associated administration, manages the night planning function, and develops strong relationships with UK subcontractors to meet margin targets aligned with KPIs.
The successful candidate will collaborate with the UK planning team to determine outsourcing needs, maintain relevant systems, update management data, and support Transport Management with timely reporting.
Working closely with the Planning Manager, the coordinator will identify improvement opportunities based on market conditions, business strategy, and financial considerations.
The role involves planning and resourcing a cost-effective night schedule, reviewing its effectiveness, and incorporating operational feedback. Monitoring driver behaviour and adjusting plans accordingly is essential.
Future resource planning includes booking agency drivers and recommending recruitment actions. Delivering effective night handovers and maintaining agency records are also key responsibilities.
Flexibility is required, with the coordinator supporting other areas of the transport department as needed.
Working hours
Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 6pm. 1 in 7 Saturdays with a day off in lieu. 1 in 4 Bank Holidays.

Previous experience in Transport Planning is a plus but not essential. We welcome transferable skills such as general office work and customer service, along with a willingness to learn.
