FP&A Principal Consultant

We’re looking for an FP&A Principal Consultant to lead the delivery of financial planning and analysis solutions across our client portfolio, with responsibility for managing the FP&A consulting team and ensuring high-quality project outcomes.
This is a senior role within the business, focused on driving excellence in FP&A implementation, methodology, and client engagement. You’ll play a key part in shaping our delivery approach, supporting presales activity, and developing the team’s technical capability in Unit4 FP&A CPM/BI.
The FP&A Principal Consultant will work closely with the Embridge Board, Senior Management Team, colleagues across all departments, and external stakeholders including clients, suppliers, and partners. Key responsibilities include:
* Lead and mentor the FP&A consulting team, ensuring high standards of delivery and professional development.
* Design and deliver FP&A business solutions using Embridge’s Implementation Methodology.
* Develop best practice methods and supporting documentation to enhance quality, efficiency, and customer experience.
* Support the development of the wider delivery team, recruiting and successfully onboarding the new team members to deliver FP&A projects successfully.
* Support the growth of the FP&A revenue stream, supporting commercial responses and presales teams in sales opportunities.
* Provide technical expertise in installing, upgrading, and building ETL processes using Unit4 FP&A CPM/BI product.
* Deliver large-scale projects with best practice processes, performance tuning, and troubleshooting on Unit4 FP&A CPM/BI product.
* Develop expertise across the team to install, upgrade and update various third party products, including Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
* Provide Unit 4 FP&A business process and technical support across the wider business, act as the SME by taking ownership of product communications internally and externally.
* Take on solution architect responsibilities for larger projects, from functional requirements to technical design and implementation.
* Work with reporting and data manipulation tools to develop optimum solutions.
Key skills and experience include:
* Proven experience implementing Unit4 FP&A.
* Previous experience in Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle database administration, strong knowledge on T-SQL or PL-SQL, and preferably JavaScript.
* Experience with ETL tools such as SSIS.
* Familiarity with Microsoft server operating systems and services (Active Directory, DHCP, IIS, DNS, Citrix).
* Competence in using IT systems including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and social media platforms.
* Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites or other office locations.
Desirable but not essential:
* Team leadership or management experience.
* Certification in Finance or Unit4 FP&A.
* Unit4 Record to Report accreditation.
* Understanding of ERP software and business applications.
