Rate: £15.40 per hour
Contract: Fixed term – immediate start until November 2026.

About the Role
As Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering a high‑quality, diverse food offer across our busy site, which includes a Farmshop, Café Restaurant, Barista Coffee Bar, family‑friendly concessions, Playbarn Café, weddings, private events, school visits and seasonal celebrations.
This hands‑on role supports our fast‑paced, varied operation requiring teamwork, organisation and creativity.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Head Chef in delivering the culinary vision across all outlets and events.
* Supervise and mentor kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food quality, safety and hygiene.
* Manage daily kitchen operations: food prep, stock rotation, allergen control and supplier coordination.
* Work closely with front‑of‑house and events teams to ensure smooth service for weddings, seasonal events and private functions.
* Maintain consistency and efficiency across a logistically varied site, ensuring timely and high‑quality food delivery.
* Uphold food safety and hygiene standards, including compliance with HACCP procedures.
* Contribute to menu development, bringing creativity and seasonal inspiration.
* Drive continuous improvement by offering ideas and feedback to enhance the food offering and kitchen operations.
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie.
* Experience in high‑volume, multi‑outlet kitchens.
* Strong background in event and wedding catering.
* Passion for fresh, seasonal, and sustainably sourced food.
* Confidence in leading, supporting and developing kitchen teams.
* Good financial awareness, including stock control and supplier liaison.
* Highly organised, calm under pressure, and detail‑focused.
* Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
