About the Role
You will be closely engaged in all aspects of editorial work at Cell Press. Cell Press is an international organization with primary offices in Cambridge, Massachusetts; London; Amsterdam; and Beijing. This is a full-time editorial position, and we have a preference for candidates located near our Amsterdam NL or our London or Oxford UK offices.

Responsibilities
1. Establishing relationships with diverse editorial teams
2. Assessing submitted research papers and overseeing the peer review and editorial process
3. Building effective working relationships with colleagues across Cell Press and beyond
4. Guiding authors through various aspects of the publishing process
5. Establishing relationships with researchers and representing Cell Press at scientific meetings and visits to research institutions
6. Contributing to broader Cell Press initiatives to shape the future of science communication
Requirements
7. Ph.D. in any area mentioned above
8. Passion to think critically about a wide range of scientific issues, with a willingness to learn and absorb new areas of research
9. Ability to work flexibly and creatively, with a willingness to experiment and a desire to enhance author service
10. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills with a collaborative problem-solving mindset
11. Interest in engaging with the scientific community
12. Talent for distilling complex concepts and communicating them effectively
13. Strong ability to communicate clearly, with an interest in science communication and publishing trends
14. Strong ability to organize, prioritize, and focus to achieve overall team goals
