We are recruiting for an experienced Restructuring Lawyer to join the national Restructuring team based in the Northwest at our Manchester office. The role suits candidates who have established experience in Restructuring and are at an aspiring middle or senior grade, respected by peers in the market. This role offers a strong pathway to partnership for the right candidate.
You will work with local lead partner Aneesh Prasad and national unit head Andrew Buchanan, collaborating with our wider Restructuring team in Manchester and colleagues across the national network. Responsibilities
* Advising insolvency practitioners on their route to office and negotiating pre-packaged sales and/or resolving disputes;
* Project managing a variety of distressed works-outs;
* Transactional and/or contentious stakeholder resolution;
* Negotiating multi-stakeholder and unlocking entrenched positions to deliver on financial and operational restructurings;
* Providing director duties advice in the board room and working alongside the wider turnaround advisor community.
The Restructuring Team at Gateley acts as trusted advisors to a diverse client base on transactional, corporate advisory and contentious matters. The team’s depth of expertise supports a broad range of services including financial and organisational restructuring, solvent or insolvent business sales and exits, distressed M&A, dispute resolution, asset recovery and governance matters.
About the Team and Firm
Our Restructuring team includes specialists in restructuring, transactional solutions, corporate work-out and contentious work. We provide advice on restructuring across the full spectrum including asset recovery, stakeholder management, enforcement and turnaround, debt trading and corporate governance. Gateley supports professional development with a clear pathway for progression, including potential partnership where appropriate. The team sits within the Corporate Platform and collaborates with Dispute Resolution and Complex International Recoveries.

Person Specification
Ideal candidates will have a real passion for Restructuring, solid experience, and the ambition to be a leading advisor in the market. Core areas include:
