Quantity Surveyor | North Manchester | Paying upto £70k
A well-established and growing construction business based in Middleton, Manchester is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its expanding commercial team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute professional to play a key role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects from inception through to final account. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, site teams and senior leadership to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, profitably and to the highest commercial standards.
The Role
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for overseeing the commercial performance of multiple construction projects while maintaining strong relationships with clients and the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
1. Managing all commercial aspects of assigned construction projects
2. Preparing cost estimates, budgets and tender documentation
3. Reviewing and negotiating contracts and subcontracts
4. Managing project valuations, variations and final accounts
5. Producing cost reports and financial forecasts
6. Procuring subcontractors and managing subcontractor payments
7. Identifying and mitigating commercial risks
8. Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations
9. Building and maintaining strong client and supply chain relationships
10. Supporting and mentoring junior commercial team members
11. Collaborating with project managers and operational teams to ensure successful project delivery
Candidate Requirements
12. Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, ideally at Senior level
13. Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
14. Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
15. Confident working with clients and subcontractors
16. Excellent communication and organisational skills
17. Full UK Driving Licence
18. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
19. Must be able to commute to Middleton, Manchester
20. Willing to work office and site based, 5 days per week
