We are looking for a newly qualified mental health nurse or an experienced nurse looking to further their professional development to join the Pavilion Ward PICU. For newly qualified nurses, our Preceptorship Programme will help give you the very best start in your transition from student to a registered nurse.
About the Unit
Pavilion Ward is a 10‑bed male psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) located within Mill View Hospital in Hove. We primarily care for patients aged 18‑65 with complex mental health needs.
Responsibilities
* Deliver patient‑centred care and support patients in their recovery.
* Conduct detailed assessments of patients with complex mental health needs.
* Administer and monitor medication.
* Work flexibly within a 24‑hour service, including evenings, nights and weekends.
* Collaborate closely with an established multidisciplinary team (nurses, healthcare assistants, nursing associates, doctors, occupational therapists, psychologist, pharmacy team and an art therapist).
* Implement least‑restrictive practice and uphold the highest standards of care.
Working Hours
The role involves 24‑hour coverage with shifts covering evenings, nights and weekends to meet service needs.
