As our student numbers increase and we continue to diversify our programmes and portfolio, we are looking for high-calibre people to join our Finance team as Interim Year End Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity to enter a well-established and respected department. As Interim Year End Accountant you will be preparing and closing the financial statements, as well as preparing and co-ordinating the necessary working papers required for audit and being the main point of contact for the external auditors. You will be/have: A proven track record in delivering to targets and deadlines. Ability to accomplish multiple tasks within strict time requirements whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy and flexibility. Financial modelling capabilities. Explaining complex financial concepts to non-finance managers. A strong understanding of strategic business goals. As our Interim Year End Accountant you will: Work with the Finance Director, as part of the senior Finance management team, ensuring that the Finance department complies with its responsibilities to the Executive Board, and external bodies, and supports the strategic direction of the University. Ensure that any other work required to ensure the good financial management of the University, or to safeguard its financial position, is undertaken. Be a key member of the senior finance team developing and contributing to the five-year plans and strategic direction of the University. We are looking for people who are/have: Extensive audit experience in medium-sized PLCs with a top audit firm. Experience completing and managing an annual accounts preparation for a medium-sized company. Expertise in IFRS accounting standards and strong technical accounting knowledge Experience in managing a team of people. Experience in presenting and communicating to an Audit Committee Experience with Unit 4/Agresso is preferred but not essential.
