Breakfast Chef - Maw, Christchurch
Maw is a family-run brunch and cocktail bar in Christchurch, Dorset. Over the last four years, we've become a go-to spot for breakfast and lunch, and we're now expanding our kitchen team with an exciting opportunity for a Breakfast chef.
As a breakfast chef, you'll work closely with the Head Chef to deliver consistently high-quality dishes, beautifully presented, and full of creativity. You'll help guide the team on busy shifts, run the kitchen when needed, and play a key role in shaping our ever-evolving menus. This is a fantastic role for someone with experience in a busy kitchen who's ready to step up and take on more responsibility. Please note due to the nature of this role working independently on some occasions is essential so experience is required
Our shifts run from 7:30am to 3:30pm, perfect for early birds who enjoy having their evenings free (and maybe joining the team for a post-shift drink)

What you'll do
* Support the Head Chef in the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen
* Take charge of service on quieter shifts and step up on busier ones
* Assist with creating seasonal menus and specials while maintaining quality and consistency
* Train and motivate junior chefs, fostering a supportive team environment
* Manage stock, monitor costs, and ensure food safety & hygiene standards are always met
What we're looking for:
* Proven experience as a breakfast chef or strong Chef de Partie ready to step up
* Good leadership, communication, and organisational skills
* Calm under pressure with a genuine passion for hospitality
* Knowledge of food safety, cost control, and kitchen operations

Pay: £12.21-£13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 37 per week
