I am recruiting for 2 C# developers to join a Bristol based company, joining a small, passionate R&D team building life changing products used by people with disabilities all over the world. This is a genuinely meaningful role where your work will have a visible real world impact every day. You will be working predominantly across desktop applications, as well as a little on the web services that support them. The team work hybrid and are looking for people happy to come into their central Bristol office 2 days a a week. They are looking for one Senior developer and one more mid level. The focus of the roles is hands on app development using modern C# and .NET, with technologies such as WPF, UIKit and increasingly Avalonia. You will be part of a cross functional agile team involved in the full product lifecycle, from understanding user needs and shaping ideas through to design, development, release and ongoing support. Collaboration is key here, both within the team and directly with end users to ensure the products truly make a difference. Day to day you will design, build, test and maintain applications, delivering new features, improving existing functionality and resolving issues. You will write clean, maintainable code, contribute to automated testing, and help improve the overall quality and structure of the codebase. There will also be opportunities to work on supporting APIs and services where they directly connect to the applications. You will work closely with a variety of specialists including UX designers, product experts and hardware engineers to deliver robust, accessible solutions. The team values good engineering practices, continuous improvement and open communication, so you will be encouraged to share ideas, challenge thinking and help shape how things are done. We are looking for someone with at least a couple of years of commercial software development experience using C# or a similar language, who has built desktop and is comfortable working with modern frameworks. Strong fundamentals, problem solving ability and experience with testing are important, along with the confidence to pick up existing systems and improve them safely. This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work and wants to build products that genuinely improve people's lives. An interest in accessibility or assistive technology would be a big plus, but not essential. The position offers a hybrid working pattern, with time split between home and the office in the Bristol area to stay connected with the team.
