We have vacancy for a Material Planner in our Supply Chain Department
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, Dayshift, Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £34,000 per year
This role will hold day-to-day accountability for scheduling and expediting components in line with SAP MRP requirements, supporting both business and customer production and sales orders. The role also provides on-going support in the development of the planning and procurement activities to support inventory targets.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
* Ensure all relevant master data and procurement parameters are accurate and updated on MRP system
* Planning and scheduling deliveries of specific purchased products to meet the demands of our forecast
* Stock management of procured product ensuring stock levels are maintained to agreed level whilst ensuring production shortages are minimized
* Daily update and management of daily book in queue in conjunction with goods in
* Schedule new product introductions and ensure material is available whilst controlling timely run-out of old materials in conjunction with the Planning, Marketing and Commercial Departments
* Buying and negotiation of materials
* Maintaining continual contact with suppliers ensuring flow of information is timely and effective to optimize supply chain
* Measurement and reporting of supplier service level objectives
* Immediate reporting of supplier issues
* Liaising with all departments internally in regard to material issues
* Continuous improvement projects aimed at implementing best practice procurement processes to lower costs
Ideally candidates will demonstrate the following:
* Experience working within an FMCG environment
* Experience working within a Materials Planning environment would be advantageous
* Strong problem analysis, judgment and decision making skills
* Ability to plan activities, meet assigned schedules and achieve planned targets & objectives
* Strong commercial awareness
* Good understanding of MRP / ERP systems
* Ability to think ahead and prioritize tasks
* Competency in the use of Microsoft packages (Excel, Word, etc)
* High degree of flexibility with good problem solving and communication skills
