Our client is a privately owned, market-leading provider of medical consumables, serving the Primary Care, Private Healthcare, and Social Care and Emergency Supplies sector.
As a result of sustained growth, they are seeking to appoint an experienced Head of Sales to lead and enhance commercial performance. This role will be instrumental in shaping and executing sales strategies aimed at driving revenue, strengthening market position, and increasing overall market share.
Key Responsibilities
* Grow revenue in GP surgeries and private healthcare – two core strategic markets for expansion.
* Own and adapt our go-to-market approach as GP practices and private healthcare providers change how they organise and buy.
* Stabilise and optimise performance in the Care Homes segment, with a clear focus on retention and margin rather than expansion.
* Prepare for commercial entry into Emergency Services via a pending acquisition.
* Drive improvement in RevOps, CRM hygiene, and team performance across all verticals.
Sales Strategy & Leadership
* Set and execute the sales strategy aligned to the company’s vertical growth objectives.
* Own go-to-market planning and lead generation for underpenetrated verticals (GP, Private, Emergency).
* Lead weekly pipeline reviews, forecast accuracy sessions, and performance check-ins
Team Management
* Directly manage sales roles and shape future sales structure, including separation of new business and account management as the business scales.
* Define and roll out clear KPIs, sales dashboards, and activity targets.
* Develop a team culture centred on accountability, performance, and commercial agility.
New Business Development
* Personally lead strategic new business acquisition in high-potential sectors (Private and Emergency).
* Establish outbound campaigns, partnerships and networking activity to build pipeline from scratch.
* Expand CRM sources beyond inbound and GP lists; implement segmentation and lead scoring.
Revenue Operations
* Improve CRM usage, data integrity, and pipeline hygiene.
* Track conversion rates, sales velocity, churn, and customer acquisition cost.
* Partner with Marketing and Operations to ensure scalable sales and margin integrity.
* Account Retention & Churn Reduction
* Accountable for overall customer retention churn reduction and margin discipline.
* Act as the strategic relationship holder for key Care Home accounts, serving as the senior point of escalation and leading periodic account reviews.
The Candidate
We are seeking a high-calibre commercial professional currently working within a respected organisation supplying products or services to the UK healthcare or social care sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of delivering individual sales growth, while also contributing to the development of broader sales strategies that build a robust pipeline and support long-term business success.
Candidates from outside the medical consumables sector will also be considered, particularly those with experience in adjacent markets such as dental, community care, or other allied healthcare sectors. A solid understanding of procurement processes within these environments will be highly advantageous.
