About the role
Working within the Regulations team of the Parking Service, you will play a key role in delivering parking schemes to support the highway network, manage the kerb space, and help facilitate connectivity, to contribute towards Buckinghamshire being the best place to live, raise a family, work, and do business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Investigate and design new schemes (parking, prohibition of movement, CPZ), allowing for the on-street parking asset to be maximised for the benefit of local residents, communities, and the travelling public.
2. Consult on proposed schemes in accordance with legal framework, and thereafter commission delivery.
3. Work closely with elected members, Community Boards, and Town and Parish Councils for their local parking requirements, and provide recommendations.
4. Manage the operational effectiveness of scheme implementation, including finance and budget reporting, and risk management. Understand health & safety responsibilities and ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation
5. Work collaborately with stakeholders, fostering partnership working to achieve shared aims.
6. Maintenance of existing signs and lines, commissioning works for refresh and replacements where required.
Any-Desk:
As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.
About you
7. Proven experience in scheme design and delivery of parking, prohibition of movement, and speed restrictions.
8. Expert knowledge of legislation and best practice relevant to service area.
9. Experience of digital mapping systems.
10. Ability to deliver multi schemes at different stages with variable timelines, and within a political environment.
11. Excellent report writing skills and dealing with complaints and complex enquiries in a timely manner.
