We are recruiting for a Deputy Manager to join a new 3-bed Children’s Residential Home in Solihull supporting children and young people with Learning Disabilities.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior / Team Leader ready to step up, or an existing Deputy Manager looking for a fresh challenge within a small, community-based home.
The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in leading and developing the home to achieve high-quality care and positive outcomes for children and young people.
Key responsibilities include:

Deputising for the Registered Manager in their absence
*
Providing leadership and day-to-day operational management
*
Supporting and supervising the staff team
*
Ensuring compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
*
Promoting safeguarding and the wellbeing of young people
*
Supporting the home to achieve and maintain a ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating
*
Providing on-call support on a rota basis
*
Liaising with external professionals, agencies and commissioners
*
Contributing to occupancy levels and service development
*
Maintaining accurate records and compliance documentation
This role combines leadership, compliance oversight and hands-on support within a child-centred environment.
Essential Requirements
*
Diploma Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – Essential
*
Experience in Residential Childcare – Essential
*
Strong knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and safeguarding
*
Experience supporting or managing staff teams
*
Full UK Driving Licence – Essential
*
Strong organisational and communication skills
*
Confident, proactive and resilient leader
