Job Description
Why this role is important to us
We are looking for a Data Migration Specialist to join an experienced, delivery-focused team currently undertaking a data migration as part of a large-scale business transformation programme. This role requires someone with extensive data migration experience within complex business environments and across complex datasets, having a keen eye for detail, and excellent technical and communication skills.
The Data Migration Specialist will be responsible for managing the full end-to-end data migration process for one or more specific data areas, meaning that this role is crucial to the successful delivery of the data migration project. This will involve the development of a detailed understanding of source and target data structures at a technical level and defining and agreeing data mapping rules with business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
The Data Migration Specialist will have excellent technical skills, with extensive experience in MS SQL Server, and ideally other programming languages such as Python.

3. Responsible for the delivery of the migration template mapping and business sign off, ensuring this is completed in line with the programme plan.

5. Responsible for the build, test, and deployment of the migration transformation code in-line with the mapping requirements and agreed scope.
6. Develop and implement programmatic constraint checks over the transformed data in-line with target data dictionaries / structures.
