The Junior Development Chef works closely with the wider New Product Development (NPD) and Category teams to support the development of products and innovation plans at the site. This role involves working across a diverse customer base of top UK retailers for the chilled snack food category. Your duties will include:
1. Supporting New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD) to meet cost and timescale requirements.
2. Assisting with customer briefs to create and deliver innovative products that meet market needs.
3. Assisting in recipe building and formulation according to guidelines.
4. Supporting the implementation of business strategy and category plans as directed by the Senior Development Chef.
5. Gathering information and presenting products to customers and internal teams.
6. Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance factory production and technical boundaries, maximizing cost savings and efficiency.
7. Identifying new trends and maintaining current products to introduce innovation to the category by understanding market dynamics.
8. Communicating with teams including NPD, purchasing, and finance to interpret briefs, source ingredients, and carry out costings.
9. Promoting health and safety culture across the site and adhering to safety requirements during kitchen and process development work.
10. Collaborating with development technologists and chefs, including travel to other sites as required.

* Food industry experience in restaurants or manufacturing.
