Are you looking for a new and exciting job opportunity?
Mencap is opening a new service in Loughborough and is recruiting enthusiastic and proactive Support Workers. We have full-time and part-time positions available and welcome applications from all interested candidates. You will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £61.20 for sleep-in shifts, which is non-contractual. Working hours will be on a rota basis, including weekdays, weekends, bank holidays, mornings, afternoons, evenings, and sleep-ins.
What does a Support Worker do?
You will provide support to help individuals live more comfortable, dignified, liberated, and happy lives. Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting independence: managing budgets, paying bills, housework, organizing appointments, and cooking healthy meals.
* Communication and relationship building: supporting understanding of the world and promoting positive relationships.
* Community and social inclusion: helping access local community activities and social events.
* Personal care: assisting with daily routines, medication, bathing, and bathroom use. Not all roles include high levels of personal care.
