We’re looking for a Temporary Meter Reader to join our Field Operations team in Torquay on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working independently, being outdoors, and making a meaningful contribution to the UK’s energy transition.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. Visiting homes and businesses to take accurate utility meter readings
2. Carrying out visual inspections of metering equipment
3. Recording data using our company mobile app
4. Managing your own schedule and working independently

Essential Requirements:
5. Access to a personal vehicle suitable for work-related travel
6. A full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
7. Basic business insurance cover for your vehicle (or willingness to obtain it)
Please note: You must reside in the TQ postcode area or very close to it. Preference will be given to applicants based in the advertised area to enable efficient daily travel.
Helpful Experience (but not essential):
8. Customer service or public-facing roles
9. Understanding of data protection and confidentiality including GDPR
10. Using mobile apps or digital tools
11. Working outdoors or in field-based roles
12. Managing your own workload or schedule
What We Offer
13. Hourly Rate: £12.60 per hour + achievable bonuses + mileage paid (30.5p per mile)
14. Contract: 6-month fixed-term
15. Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, with flexible scheduling and overtime available
