Join Our Creative Hub as a Makerspace Technician!
Are you passionate about innovation, hands-on creation, and empowering others to bring ideas to life? We’re looking for a full-time Library Makerspace Technician to be the heartbeat of our dynamic makerspace in Bridlington Central Library - a place where imagination meets technology.
What You’ll Do:
1. Champion Creativity: Support makers of all ages, staff, and community members in using cutting-edge tools and equipment.
2. Maintain the Magic: Keep our 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, and electronics stations running smoothly and ensure they have sufficient materials for use.
3. Share Knowledge: Deliver workshops, troubleshoot projects, and inspire makers of all skill levels.
4. Innovate Daily: Help design new processes and introduce emerging technologies to the space.
5. Encourage and Monitor Membership: Ensure that everyone has the right level of access for their needs.
What We’re Looking For:
6. A hands-on problem solver with a love for tech and design.
7. Experience with fabrication tools (3D printing, laser cutting, CNC tools, electronics).
8. Strong communication and customer service skills and a knack for teaching others.
9. Safety-conscious and detail-oriented.
