Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. This confidential vacancy is ideal for someone looking to develop their accounting career within a supportive and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Manager to support day-to-day accounting operations. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end processes, and ensuring the smooth running of core finance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assisting with preparation of monthly management accounts
* Processing invoices, payments, and expense claims
* Maintaining accurate ledgers and supporting reconciliations
* Assisting with VAT returns and other statutory submissions
* Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
* Liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders as required
* Providing general administrative and financial support to the wider team
Skills & Experience:
* Previous experience in an accounting or finance support role
* Strong numerical and analytical skills
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
* Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
* Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
* Studying towards AAT or similar qualification (preferred but not essential)
