Senior Cost Manager (Electrical Bias)
Location: Leeds (min. 3 days in the office)
Salary: £70,000–£95,000 DOE
Why This Role?
Take ownership of electrical cost management on some of the UK’s most complex healthcare projects — including hospitals, specialist treatment centres, labs, and research facilities. You’ll manage high-value, safety-critical electrical packages in live environments, shaping budgets, ensuring compliance, and delivering value beyond spreadsheets.
What You’ll Do
Lead electrical cost management from feasibility to final account.
Prepare cost plans, estimates, tenders, and procurement strategies.
Manage valuations, variations, change control, and final accounts.
Advise on value engineering, whole-life cost optimisation, and risk mitigation.
Collaborate with design, engineering, clinical, and construction teams.
Mentor junior cost managers.
Interpret design changes — e.g., new MRI suites — and accurately forecast market costs.
What We’re Looking For
Experience in estimating or Quantity Surveying (pre-construction to handover).
Hands-on electrical experience welcomed for cost planning accuracy.
Track record delivering healthcare projects up to £20M.
Knowledge of electrical systems in clinical environments: HV/LV, essential power, UPS, generators, life safety, BMS, nurse call, and medical systems.
Confident liaising with clients, contractors, and consultants.
