Data Analyst (Geospatial & Performance) - NHS - Remote - £450/day (Inside IR35) - 6-Month Contract We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support NHS decision-making through clear, decision-ready analytical outputs. This is a fully remote, 6-month contract role focused on high-quality reporting, data validation, and geospatial analysis to inform local, regional, and national insight across healthcare services. The Role You'll be responsible for producing robust analytical products that support operational, clinical, and strategic decision-making. Working closely with analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders, you will ensure data is accurate, well-documented, and translated into meaningful insight - with a strong emphasis on geographical context. Key Responsibilities Produce decision-ready outputs, including issue summaries, dashboards, reconciliation lists, and sign-off packs for senior stakeholders. Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to clearly communicate analytical findings. Create clear, readable analytical documentation, detailing methods, assumptions, business rules, and limitations to support review. Apply strong SQL skills to analyse datasets, validate results, verify transformation outputs, and assure data quality. Work with geospatial data, including vector and raster formats, GeoJSON, and shapefiles. Apply knowledge of coordinate reference systems (CRS) and spatial analysis workflows to ensure accurate interpretation of data. Interpret local and regional geospatial insights and relate them to broader national trends and priorities. Ensure consistency, integrity, and quality across multiple data sources. Present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Essential Experience Proven experience as a Data Analyst delivering decision-ready insight in complex environments. Strong Power BI (or equivalent) reporting and data visualisation skills. Advanced SQL skills for analysis, validation, and data quality assurance. Demonstrable experience working with geospatial data and spatial analysis techniques. Ability to document analytical work clearly so it can be reviewed, audited, and reused. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Must hold or be eligible for BPSS clearance. Desirable Experience working with NHS or public-sector data. Familiarity with national health datasets and geographically referenced indicators. Experience translating analytical outputs into actionable recommendations for senior decision-makers.
