* Job Title: SEN Teacher (Secondary)
* Location: West Kent - Tonbridge
* Pay Range: £168.80 - £232.58 per (equivalent to MPS1–MPS6), dependent on experience + SEN Allowance
* Contract Type: Full-Time (Mon – Friday)
About the role:
Develop, deliver and adapt a curriculum that meets the diverse needs of secondary‑aged pupils with SEND, ensuring learning is ambitious, accessible and meaningful
Use targeted, evidence‑informed teaching strategies to remove barriers to learning and enable pupils to make strong academic, social and emotional progress
Provide direction, guidance and ongoing support to teaching assistants and other support staff, ensuring effective deployment and collaborative working
Analyse pupil progress and the impact of provision, using assessment and observation to refine practice and improve outcomes
Establish a calm, structured and inclusive environment that promotes safety, wellbeing and positive behaviour for learning
Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals, contributing actively to the wider ethos and development of the school
Desirable skills & experience:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status and meets the professional standards for teaching
Brings a proven track record of delivering consistently high‑quality teaching and learning
Has experience supporting secondary‑aged pupils with complex and additional needs
Demonstrates confidence and effectiveness in leading and coordinating a classroom support team
Uses assessment information and progress data to inform planning and improve outcomes
Displays patience, empathy and resilience, with strong organisational skills
Builds trusting, collaborative relationships with pupils, parents/carers and external professionals
While experience and qualifications are helpful, what matters most is your ability to build positive relationships and support pupils’ confidence and progress.
