Justice Worker – Court Team and Justice Pathways Service – Grindlay Court Social Work Centre. Salary: £34,452–£40,501. Hours: 36 per week.
Overview
Edinburgh Justice Services is expanding its Bail Supervision scheme and is recruiting three enthusiastic individuals to support this work across sites in Edinburgh. Two candidates will join our Justice Pathways Service, while one will join our Court Social Work Team located in Edinburgh Sheriff Court.
Responsibilities
* Court Social Work Team – Complete Bail Supervision and Electronic Monitoring Assessment Reports for people who are at risk of remand; complete welfare checks and provide support to people appearing in custody; liaise with partner agencies and other teams within Justice Services; respond to people presenting at the Court Social Work office.
* Justice Pathways Service – Supervise people subject to Bail Supervision and support them to comply with bail conditions; collaboratively develop individual bail supervision management plans to address needs, linking people with drug and alcohol services, health, accommodation, education and employment supports; provide progress reports to the Courts; participate in the development and delivery of interventions, including group work.
* Work flexibly across sites, including Edinburgh Sheriff Court, Grindlay Court Social Work Office, and the Women’s Centre in New Kirkgate Shopping Centre.
Qualifications
* HNC in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Good understanding of the needs of people within the Justice system.
* Willingness to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to an inclusive culture that values and respects diversity and lived experience.
Pre‑employment Checks
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Qualified candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Candidates who have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years will need to provide an Overseas Criminal Record Check. All pre‑employment checks must be deemed satisfactory before an unconditional offer of employment is made.
