Your new roleAs a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting engineering activities across design, process, production systems, and quality & continuous improvement.You will be responsible for:
1. Designing, proving, implementing and maintaining production systems to deliver products on time, to quality and cost requirements.
2. Driving continuous improvement in quality, cycle times, process efficiency, and machine availability using lean and value engineering techniques
3. Supporting product design for manufacture and assembly, as well as CAM/CAE activities
4. Selecting and designing cutting tools, work holding tools and moulds
5. Developing validation plans to ensure robust technical solutions
6. Creating and maintaining project plans and budgets to meet agreed milestones
7. Identifying and justifying capital equipment investments
8. Analysing material usage and downtime, identifying trends and developing solutions
9. Ensuring accuracy of procedures, documentation and systems data
10. Producing reports, presentations, and conducting root cause analysis to resolve issues
11. Identifying business improvement opportunities and conducting risk assessments
What you’ll need to succeedIdeally:
12. Relevant Manufacturing/Engineering degree (preferred) or HND, BTEC Professional Level 5 Award, or NVQ Level 5 equivalent
13. 2 years experience in a similar environment (heavy engineering, automotive, aerospace)
14. Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
15. CAD Proficiency
16. In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques
