Overview
Teaching Assistant/Cover supervisor, you will assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons to meet the needs of all students. Your role will include providing one-to-one support, working with small groups, and helping with general classroom duties. You will play a key role in supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development, ensuring they have the tools and encouragement they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
* Assist individual students and small groups with their learning, focusing on literacy, numeracy, and other subjects
* Provide tailored support for students with additional learning needs, as required
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
* Help with the preparation of classroom resources and materials
* Support with classroom behaviour management, promoting a calm and respectful atmosphere
* Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to the teacher
* Help with general classroom duties, including setting up, tidying, and supervising break times
Requirements
* Experience working with children, ideally in a primary school setting
* A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students
* Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Knowledge of the primary or secondary curriculum and KS2/KS3/KS4 expectations
* An enhanced childworkforce only DBS (or willing to obtain one)
