Job Title: Principal Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer
My client, a market-leading and innovative consultancy based in the heart of Bristol, is seeking a Principal Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer to lead their Water Team in Bristol. Hybrid working arrangements are available.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Strong academic background in a relevant discipline.
2. Chartered status or close to achieving it.
3. Extensive experience working for a UK-based consultancy in flood risk, hydrology, hydraulic modelling, flood alleviation, drainage, or river engineering.
4. Drive and determination to develop new business opportunities, with experience in project management, promoting company services, and mentoring team members.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage a team of engineers based in Bristol.
2. Oversee project management, technical work, and client communication across flood risk, drainage, hydraulic modelling, flood alleviation, and river restoration schemes.
3. Support the technical team and coordinate project progress.
4. Manage projects including:
1. Flood alleviation schemes
2. River restoration and natural habitat management
3. Pollution incidents and nutrient neutrality
4. Drainage strategies and designs
5. Hydrological and hydraulic modelling
6. Bid proposals and tenders
7. Aviation and renewable energy projects
