Job Description:
People & Culture Manager – Build Something That Lasts...
Are you ready to help shape the future of a fantastic design studio… not just its projects, but its people?
One of London’s premier architectural studios, known for delivering some of the world’s most complex and high-profile projects, is looking for someone special.
We’re not just looking for an HR Manager or someone to tick boxes or file policies. We want a People & Culture builder—someone who thrives on bringing humanity, energy, and structure into growing creative teams.
This is a unique opportunity to shape a new People & Culture function from the ground up, creating a culture where people feel heard, supported, challenged, and inspired.
You’ll work directly with Directors, sit at the leadership table, and be the go-to person for all things people—growth, development, retention, and culture.
Our client does not expect perfection. Instead, we’re looking for someone who brings:
* A can-do attitude and emotional intelligence
* Curiosity, pragmatism, and common sense
* A passion for professional and personal development
* A natural way with people—staff feel comfortable turning to you
What You'll Be Doing:
* Define and embed a culture rooted in empathy, trust, and shared purpose
* Support staff growth through PDPs, internal training, and one-to-ones
* Refine HR processes and structures for a growing business
* Collaborate with Directors and external advisors on employment matters
* Be a visible, approachable presence in the studio
The studio has strong foundations, including established HR systems (Sage, HREscape), access to external legal and HR consultants, and an engaged leadership team. What’s missing is you—someone to connect the dots, shape the culture, and make it sustainable.
* A People & Culture Advisor ready to step up
* A Generalist HR professional seeking a more values-led, people-focused role
* A People-first recruiter or L&D professional eager to go in-house
* An individual who is both culture-shaper and process-builder
* Experience in creative industries, especially architecture or design, and connections to relevant HR forums or peer groups, are key factors.
Why This Role?
You’ll join a respected practice that is serious about investing in its people.
The team of 70+ is growing, with a hybrid setup (3 days in studio, 2 from home), and a flat structure that values collaboration over hierarchy.
This is more than a job—it’s a chance to shape the next chapter of a globally recognized studio and make a lasting impact on its people.
Are you ready to help build a culture people want to be part of?
