The ideal candidate will have: Ideally fully qualified Accounts Technician status, or be part-qualified ACA, ACCA (or similar). Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar position. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Office; experience with Sage Accounts 50 is an advantage. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines. High attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing. A proactive and positive approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Your Responsibilities Always: Maintain computerised accounting systems for multiple group companies. Process purchase and sales ledgers accurately. Perform regular bank reconciliations. Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with deadlines. Uphold the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality. Often: Complete intercompany account reconciliations. Assist with payment runs and resolve supplier queries. Support the preparation of management accounts and year-end accounts. Prepare project costings to support business decisions. Provide general administrative and accounts support tasks. Occasionally: Contribute to system or process improvements within the finance team. Support with ad hoc financial analysis or reporting for senior management. Assist with audits or external stakeholder requests. Take part in projects across the wider group finance function.
