Overview
Up to £13.45 per hour. Location: Horsforth, Leeds. Contract: Full-Time, Part-Time.
You will join a calm, resourceful and enthusiastic team as a Senior Support Worker, providing person-centred care and support to tenants to enable participation in everyday life and a wide range of activities. You will use positive communication and engagement, and demonstrate unconditional positive regard for the people we support. You will work within a positive behaviour support framework, take responsibility, and grow in confidence as a skilled practitioner. You must follow agreed guidelines and work positively within a consistent, mutually supportive team.
The service emphasises high levels of service user and family involvement. There is an opportunity to undertake the responsible role of Key Worker/Co-Key Worker to plan with the person’s wider support network and help individuals be happy, healthy and successful in achieving their wishes and aspirations.
Responsibilities
* Provide person-centred care and support to tenants in a supported living service and Day Services.
* Assist with personal care and domestic tasks, as well as social engagement and community activities (e.g., walking, swimming, gym).
* Support individuals with a wide range of presenting needs and work within a positive behaviour support framework.
* Lead and supervise a team of Support Workers to implement individualised support, ensuring consistency and effective communication.
* Act as Key Worker/Co-Key Worker where required, planning with the person’s wider support network.
* Follow agreed guidelines and contribute to a calm, respectful, and safe environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Prior experience of supporting adults with learning disabilities is essential.
* Willingness to work towards a relevant qualification, such as the NVQ Diploma in Health and Social Care at level 2 or 3.
* Ability to work within a positive behaviour support framework and to follow guidelines.
* Location in the UK and eligibility to work (the role is not open to sponsorship under UKVI; Skilled Worker Visa holders cannot be considered).
