Role: IT Services Transition Manager
Location: Richmond, UK – Richmond TW9 1DN
Duration: 6 months
Working hours: 9AM to 5 PM (UK working hours)
Hybrid: 2 days office 3 days remote
Introduction:
The IT Services Transition Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless transition of IT services from incumbent providers or internal teams to new service providers. This position is integral to maintaining service continuity, quality, and performance standards during transition periods, while setting the foundation for long-term operational success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT service delivery, vendor management, and coordination of medium-scale complex projects.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Transition Strategy & Execution: Lead the development of comprehensive IT transition plans, covering scope, timelines, resources, milestones, risk management strategies, and stakeholder communications.
* Stakeholder Engagement/Management: Serve as the central point of contact between internal departments and vendors, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the transition process.
* Risk & Issue Management: Identify transition-related risks and issues early, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure appropriate escalation and resolution with all parties.
* Knowledge Transfer: Ensure effective knowledge transfer from incumbent vendors to new vendors, including documentation, systems, processes, and intellectual property.
* Governance & Reporting: Establish governance frameworks, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms to monitor transition progress and post-transition service performance. Provide regular status updates to senior leadership and maintain documentation of progress, decisions, and issues.
* Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all transitions adhere to organizational policies, contractual obligations, and information security standards.
* Performance Monitoring: Monitor each vendor's performance and document progress during the transition period to ensure contractual obligations are met.
Qualifications:
* 10+ years of experience in vendor management, project management, or service transition roles.
* Proven experience leading end-to-end service transitions involving multiple vendors and complex infrastructures, including vendor exits.
* Experience managing offshore, nearshore, or global service transitions.
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
* ITIL certification, particularly in Service Transition, is highly desirable.
Tools and Technologies:
* Proficiency with enterprise service management tools such as ServiceNow.
* Familiarity with cloud services, IT infrastructure, and enterprise applications.
* Strong project management and organizational skills, with experience using project management software.
* Familiarity with contract terms, Service Levels, and procurement processes.
