The Role:
Blackpool and The Fylde College (B&FC) is seeking a skilled and proactive IT Infrastructure Engineer (Transformation) to join our IT Services team on a fixed term basis. This pivotal role focuses on delivering planned change, supporting project delivery, and resolving escalated infrastructure incidents while ensuring exceptional service quality across the College.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
As a key member of the Infrastructure team, you will:
2. Deliver planned changes, transformation activities, and project-related infrastructure work within agreed timeframes and scopes.
3. Provide timely, effective troubleshooting, diagnostics, and resolution of escalated infrastructure incidents, problems, and service requests.
4. Ensure adherence to SLAs and KPIs, escalating or intervening where required to maintain service excellence.
5. Maintain up‑to‑date and accurate technical documentation, asset records, and change management information.
6. Monitor and manage the infrastructure environment proactively using automated tools, ensuring patch compliance, vulnerability remediation, and strong security practices.
7. Act as an escalation point for junior colleagues and contribute your expertise to IT projects and operational reporting.
8. Identify and recommend continuous improvements based on industry best practice and emerging standards.
