Anaesthetic - Theatre Practitioner – Barts Health NHS Trust
Exciting opportunities have arisen at Whipps Cross Hospital, NHS Trust for a dynamic, innovative, committed and highly skilled individuals to assist in the leadership of our Anaesthetic Support Practitioner Teams.
You will be an experienced Anaesthetic Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with demonstrable commitment to your own professional development and experience of running theatre lists in a busy theatre environment. Previous experience of supervising and leading a team is desirable. You will be committed to developing professional competence and helping to build skills portfolios through experiential learning and education to maximise career prospects of each team member.
We currently cover twelve theatres specialising in a wide range of elective and emergency surgery. Two of our theatres have been re‑built on site, providing a welcome environment for both staff and patients, with 2 further Theatres now up‑graded.

Responsibilities
* The post holder will be responsible for the effective and efficient operational supervision of the department, including budgetary awareness, clinical governance, staff development and training.
* The post holder will be expected to provide professional leadership within the clinical area and give direction and inspirational leadership to all members of the multi‑disciplinary team within the area for which they are accountable.
* The post holder will be involved in the development of protocols, guidelines and patient information.
* Maintain professional relationships with key partners, employees and boards.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experienced Anaesthetic Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner.
* Experience running theatre lists in a busy theatre environment.
* Demonstrable commitment to professional development and experiential learning.
* Experience supervising and leading a team (desirable).
