Futures are looking appoint a skilled and proactive Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support the ongoing reliability and performance of manufacturing operations. This role is critical in ensuring that production machinery operates safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards through a combination of planned, reactive, and continuous improvement maintenance activities.
Roles & Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to maximise equipment reliability and performance.
Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns, diagnose faults, and implement effective repairs to minimise downtime.
Coordinate closely with production teams to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to operations.
Monitor and improve key performance metrics such as Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
Analyse equipment performance data to identify recurring issues and implement long-term reliability improvements.
Manage and update maintenance work orders, ensuring accurate documentation and tracking of all activities.
Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and reducing maintenance costs.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and quality standards.
Skills & Experience
Strong mechanical engineering background with experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Proven ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex mechanical systems.
Solid organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
Experience using maintenance management systems (CMMS) and handling work orders.
Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and reliability engineering.
