We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated full time, permanent Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our Team in Renfrewshire. We are a supportive Team of 16 registered and non-registered practitioners based in Aranthrue Centre in Renfrew. The successful candidate will be based in a community Team of SLT’s who are well supported by the SLT Leadership Team.
The post holder will work closely with children and their families and with colleagues within Specialist Children’s Services, the Neurodevelopment Team, Paediatrics, Health Visiting, Education and Social Work to promote understanding of communication differences. A willingness to undertake Eating, Drinking and Swallowing training would be advantageous. The principles of realistic medicine underpin team thinking and compassionate care is at the heart of everything the team delivers.
You need to have significant experience in working with children with speech, language and communication difficulties and experience of working with children and young people with a range of Neurodevelopmental conditions.
Experience in working with children and young people with additional support needs and a working knowledge of both low tech and high tech AAC devices would be advantageous.
You should hold an appropriate ordinary / honours degree in Speech and Language Pathology or equivalent diploma and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
