Our client, a large Defence and Security supplier, is looking for an Assistant Planning Manager to join them on a contract basis at their site in Luton.
* Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible to undergo SC Clearance.
* 8-month initial contract.
* 4 days per week onsite in Luton.
* £36 p/h PAYE or £49.27 Umbrella, inside IR35.
As an Assistant Planning Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating various aspects of project planning and execution. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and analyze data to optimize project success.
The key responsibilities include:
* Project Planning / Scheduling: Develop and manage project plans and MRPII material schedules, ensuring material availability while maintaining the delivery (MPS) output.
* Cost accounting: Use Excel macros and tables to analyze costs, determine adjustments, budgeting, and ensure correct journal entries.
* Resource Allocation: Allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet project requirements.
* Team collaboration: Coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
* Stakeholder communication: Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders, including IPTs, senior management, project managers, and team members.
* Purchase Requisition Management: Review purchase requisitions for materials or services needed for projects or operations.
* Data analysis: Analyze project data and performance metrics to identify trends and inform decisions.
* Performance tracking: Monitor project progress, measure performance against milestones, and adjust plans as needed to keep projects on track.
* Data integrity: Identify anomalous data and maintain good practices to ensure measurement accuracy.
* Problem solving: Address issues during project execution, making decisions aligned with project goals.
* Risk assessment: Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address potential issues.
* Adaptability: Adjust plans flexibly in response to changing circumstances.
* Configuration: Study Bills of Material (BOM) to support project planning.
Qualifications and skills:
* Understanding of material requirements and processes.
* Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
* Experience in planning and overseeing projects using SAP and Excel.
* Ability to analyze data, identify opportunities, and mitigate risks.
* Ability to work effectively with multi-functional teams.
* Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
