An opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join a growing UK engineering business working on high-voltage power systems and critical infrastructure technologies. The company designs and manufactures specialist transformers, reactors, and magnetics that support sectors such as renewable energy, utilities, and defence.
This is a hands-on, development-focused role offering exposure to the full product lifecycle — from concept design through to manufacturing and testing. You’ll work closely with experienced mechanical and electrical engineers to design innovative solutions that meet the needs of complex, high-performance applications.
The Role
* Assist in the mechanical design of transformer tanks, cooling systems, and structural assemblies.
* Create and update 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings.
* Support manufacturing and fabrication teams with technical input and process improvements.
* Participate in design reviews, quality planning, and continuous improvement projects.
* Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver integrated product solutions.
* Contribute to R&D initiatives focused on innovation, sustainability, and efficiency.
About You
* Degree-qualified (BEng or MEng) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
* Proficient with 3D CAD design tools and familiar with materials, fabrication, and mechanical systems.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a creative and curious mindset.
* Confident communicator who enjoys teamwork and contributing to technical discussions.
* Passionate about engineering design, energy systems, and product development.
* Hands-on practical experience from internships, projects, or previous work is advantageous.
