Building Services Manager – Edinburgh

Galliford Try is looking for an experienced Building Services Manager to join our team in Edinburgh. The role involves managing the production of outsourced design, directing the design and installation of services and associated builders work to meet project targets of time, cost and quality.


What you will be doing

* Lead the site team by example, develop a positive health, safety and environment (HSE) culture and be measured monthly on HSE performance.
* Review the safety and quality plan, ensuring compliance with the GT business management system (BMS) and health, safety and environmental (SHE) standards.
* Manage and develop the HSE plan during the construction phase, working with the planning supervisor and project manager.
* Manage all discipline sub‑contractors to produce a detailed contract programme for their respective works, relating to the overall contract programme.
* Ensure all discipline sub‑contractors produce a weekly return of labour, plant and materials.
* Develop a "Best Quality" culture with sub‑contractors, set high standards with regard to workmanship and reject inferior workmanship, ensuring compliance with GT BMS quality procedures.
* Ensure all sub‑contractors carry out their construction work in compliance with the Drawings and Specification.
* Maintain a professional and co‑operative relationship with all internal and external stakeholders through agreed GT PR procedures and the PR coordinator.


About you

* Qualification in a recognised Building Services subject, HNC or Degree Level.
* Previous experience working with a main contractor in a building services role is an advantage.
* Full working knowledge of aspects and law, including the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and CDM 2015.
* Basic sub‑contract processes – contract and commercial.
* Basic appreciation and use of project management – programming, cash flow analysis, resource planning etc.
