Job Description
As Lead Teacher, you will provide effective leadership and management on a specific site for a College for 14-19 year olds, delivering a safe and secure education provision for students with complex needs and behaviours.
You will manage the educational environment, supporting and motivating students with complex needs, while delivering a high-quality and aspirational curriculum.
Teaching and Learning:
* Teaching GCSEs in Maths and/or English
* Building effective and supportive relationships with students and families/carers; embedding trust and support within the education process.
* Managing, implementing, and monitoring the timetable to ensure effective deployment of teachers and support staff, promoting learner success.
* Overseeing and coordinating the development of your subject(s) area.
* Planning, producing, and updating schemes of work to meet curriculum, inspection, and accreditation requirements, ensuring compliance with guidance from the DfE and other regulatory bodies.
Leadership and Management:
* Managing and analyzing performance data and reporting to the Centre Manager, taking appropriate actions to address underperformance.
* Leading initiatives to improve teaching and learning quality by following and implementing the College’s observation procedures.
* Managing the contribution review process by setting targets for individual and team performance, and managing direct reports effectively and promptly.
* Supporting staff training and development to ensure outstanding teaching and learning.
* Holding a recognised QTS qualification (or willing to work towards).
* Designated Safeguarding Lead.
* Experience working with young people, including those with complex, high-behaviour, and additional learning needs.
* Line management experience, including setting KPIs and conducting regular supervisions.
* Extensive knowledge of various teaching, learning, and behaviour management strategies, including personalized learning approaches.

Contract: Full-Time Permanent

* The post holder must have a driving licence and be able to drive as part of the role.
